What is a namesake?

Fish Camp is divided into multiple sessions and camps. Each camp is named after someone who has contributed to Texas A&M in a positive way.

Fish Camp receives several hundred nominations for potential Namesakes every year.

Being selected as a Fish Camp Namesake is considered an honor because Namesakes have the opportunity to interact with and impact two chairpersons, 24 counselors, and around 150 freshmen in their camp.

Namesake nominations typically open in October and close in November with decisions made by December. If you have nominated someone, you will find out the results in March when the information becomes publicly available.
